Hundreds of women traveled to Chicago from around the country to attend LadyBoss® LIVE and break the cycle of unhealthy life patterns.
LadyBoss® co-founder Kaelin Poulin urged women to focus on themselves during the three-day conference Oct. 11-13.
“I watched women become empowered,” Kaelin said. “I watched women go from fragile to conqueror, from victim to victor. They changed from hopeless to dreamer, from beat down to believer.
“They went from self-conscious to confident. They went from barely living to finding NEW LIFE in themselves, from breaking down to breaking through, they exchanged ‘I can’t’ for ‘I CAN do anything!’ and they traded their setbacks for their future’s set up.”
Kaelin led an all-star lineup of inspirational speakers including Natasha Nassar Hazlett, Julie Stoian, Chris Wark, Rachel Jackson, Josh and Ashley Latimer, Myron Golden, and Dr. Caroline Leaf.
POWERFUL MESSAGES
Natasha Nassar Hazlett
Natasha Nassar Hazlett, an inspirational speaker, coach, attorney, and the author of the #1 Amazon Best Selling Book, “Unstoppable Influence: Be You. Be Fearless. Transform Lives,” urged women to be confident and step outside their comfort zones. Rather than live in fear, she urged the audience to instead harness the power of the “Unbecoming,” process to escape the ruts in life to move forward.
It was amazing to watch Natasha’s feelings play out on the screen. In one moment she decided to go “all in” and start her health journey. But the very next day, real-life hit and she was second-guessing her decision. She knew it was going to be hard and she doubted that she could go through with it. I haven’t ever met a client who didn’t go through the same thing. We could all put ourselves in her shoes. Her persistence taught all of us that you can do it!
Rachel Jackson
Rachel Jackson, a self-made businesswoman and philanthropist, discussed how women can first identify the invisible barriers that hold them back and then ask questions that will help them bust through.
I loved her analogy of the fork in the road. It is either breakdown or step up to the breakthrough. It is our choice. She gave us great questions to ask ourselves when we hit that fork.
Julie Stoian
Julie Stoian, a digital marketing expert and coach, focused on helping women understand the need to put themselves first by helping them learn how to juggle the hard decisions that can put their needs at odds with their loved one’s needs.
Julie’s vulnerability about her struggles was incredibly empowering. We all have “not so pretty” moments in our life that we hide from. When we face those moments head-on and move on we only become stronger. Julie helps you not only move on but move up!
Chris Wark
Chris Wark, the author of the #1 Amazon Best Selling Book, “Chris Beat Cancer,” focused on how women can use food as medicine. He shared information on powerful healing foods and the genetic benefits of exercise. Wark, who opted out of chemotherapy after surgery for stage 3 colon cancer, shared his experience using plant-based nutrition and natural, non-toxic therapies to heal.
I watched as almost every woman in the audience was frantically taking notes on Chris’s information. It was a huge “Aha” moment that food is more than just deliciousness on our tastebuds. It is really the medicine we need to live a full and vibrant life. So many takeaways!
Dr. Caroline Leaf
Dr. Caroline Leaf, a cognitive neuroscientist and the best selling author of “The Perfect You” and “Think and Eat Yourself Smart,” discussed neuroscience weight-loss tactics to overcome stress and emotional eating. She also provided recommendations to “switch on your brain” to gain motivation and avoid the diet cycle.
How can I even describe the vast wealth of knowledge I gained from Dr. Leaf? She taught us how powerful our minds really are and if we can tap into our mind, we can change our behaviors. After listening to her we all have a better understanding of why we do the things we do and how we can change some of those behaviors. Trust me, you want to know these secrets, too!
Josh and Ashley Latimer
Josh and Ashley Latimer, serial entrepreneurs and creators of the Quick Talk podcast, stressed the importance of rocking your family life like a LadyBoss. Their core system focuses on reducing stress while creating cooperation, happiness, and abundance.
Josh and Ashley talked about their family motto “Do hard things.” Everyone wrote down a “hard thing” that they could do. How liberating to know that you can DO THE HARD THING! It was enlightening to learn how we can shape our own families from the beginning and if we hadn’t done it already, how we can start shaping them now.
Myron Golden
Myron Golden, author of the international best-selling book, “From The Trash Man to The Cash Man: How Anyone Can Get Rich Starting From Anywhere,” told the audience how to overcome adversity and replace anxious apprehension with joyful anticipation. He also shared his “Heads & Tails” technique to help women fix the connection between their heads and hearts.
Myron really made me think about how my anxiety can either make me or break me. His words were empowering because knowing that I have the power to shape my life and do it joyfully is absolutely freeing. If you need a mind shift, this is one speaker you don’t want to skip.
GET OFF MY THRONE
LadyBoss LIVE was designed to energize and empower women to take back control of their lives by focusing on themselves so they can build better habits and slay the doubts, excuses, and negative thoughts that hold them back.
Although Kaelin knew the participants wanted to “stay here forever in our pink bubble,” she armed them with her powerful thought pattern transformation using a “Game of Thrones”-inspired closing presentation.
She urged the women to stop being passive and take charge.
“Think about this for a second. The throne is never vacant,” she said. “When you vacate your throne, someone else sits there. You need to make sure it’s you.”
Mistakes, discouragement, grief, comparison, circumstances, fear, worry, challenges, and negative thoughts all conspire to steal your power, she told the women. Rather than let those enemies take your seat, she said, “We have to fight like LadyBosses fight. You can’t overcome what you won’t face.”
Because change takes hard work, she provided the women with four weapons they can take into battle:
- The identity cloak — which helps women self-identify themselves using words that emphasize their self-worth.
- The honesty potion — which encourages women to be honest with themselves.
- The sword of no excuses — which Kaelin encouraged women to use to decapitate the excuses holding them back.
- The massive action stone — which will help women implement what they learned during the conference and help them start taking action.
I can’t tell you how empowering it was to go through each of these motions. To change how I describe myself – for our ladies to describe themselves in a positive way. To allow honesty to be at the core. Listing out the excuses we all make and then knowing the massive action that needs to happen. If you are reading right now, STOP and write your Identity cloak, take the honesty potion, list your excuses and determine your actions.
“Start telling yourself who you are,” Kaelin said. “You are the rightful heir. Say you will no longer sit on the throne of my life. You don’t make the decisions. I make the decisions. I’m in control.”
“This seat is taken. Get off my throne!”
She warned the women that fighting for themselves will be harder to do alone at home without their army of LadyBoss sisters and recommended they bottle up their feelings from LadyBoss LIVE and relive them on days when things get hard.
“You need to see yourself sitting on your throne. You are worthy. You are confident,” Kaelin said. “I can see it. I can see it right now. You can do this, you can take on anything.”
